Phoenix Leadership: Right to the Heart of Your Matter

It is an exciting yet challenging time to be a leader when so much of what we thought we knew about how to lead and operate is in desperate need of whole system transformation. Global leadership studies show a widening ‘complexity gap’ amongst today’s leaders. As our organisations need to be more agile, innovative, responsive, and purposeful to become future-fit, so too does our leadership paradigm.

The good news is: reaching beyond the complexity gap does not require us to add more complexity, burdensome methodologies, measures, models and metrics to an already busy, and often stressful, leadership dynamic. Quite the opposite, in fact. While more ‘head-learning’ may have worked in the past; the future now calls for something new, something altogether more embodied and experiential in its pedagogy: The other side of complexity is beautiful simplicity.

Just for one moment, let’s step back in time… …to the era prior to written, documented history, when humans lived with a shamanic awareness – in deep reverence to and in direct participation with the surrounding world. Their perspectives on living and dying connected them to an endless cosmic cycle of birth, death, and regeneration. During this time, humanity thrived by taking direction from the right brain, the area of the brain in charge of our intuition and directly connected to our hearts, our feelings, our body, and our dreams. The brilliant Jungian analyst Anne Baring refers to our original consciousness as a species as existing with a “lunar” or shamanic approach that revered the Great Mother or the Divine Feminine – The Goddess.

“The human contradiction held them.

Intelligence at the service of hierarchical behavior. They were not free.”

― Octavia E. Butler

Mechanistic Mindset

Then, around 5,000 years ago, we slowly shifted toward a more “solar” oriented perspective that exalted the sun, also associated with the masculine, and led us to live from the left brain – our rational, logical, ego-centric mind. With this shift, we moved away from interacting with the aliveness of each breath… the animation of our surroundings. While this solar view has contributed to remarkable feats and scientific discoveries, it has also excreted toxicity that has left us impoverished on a soul level. Its’ mechanistic, top-down, siloed approach compartmentalises activities and relationships in an effort to make things easier to control. Organisations are treated like machines, with people classified as ‘human resources’ alongside other inputs like capital and energy. This left-brain approach focuses-in and takes specific content out of the lived-in content of the right-brain hemisphere. It also honours the past habits and routines more than the novel emerging future, and so attempts to mechanise change into predictable step-by-step routines.

The dying yet still dominant worldview today perceives life as a purposeless random affair, where separate individuals and competing organisations struggle for survival in a dog-eat-dog world. The lens of perception through which we view ourselves and the world around us is a narrowed-down lens. It objectifies the world into separate objects and deterministic push-pull relationships. It assumes life is like a clockwork machine that can be understood by examining the parts. When we analyse, extrapolate, categorise and manipulate the world around us, we lose our inherent empathic connection with life. This creates a sense of separateness and insecurity that then fuels an ego-need to compete, control and dominate in order to feel safe in a fearful world. This atomisation of life, society and the individual, desensitises us and creates imbalances in us. We attempt to satisfy these inner tensions through outer material betterment and techno-fixes, unable to see that it is our inner imbalance that is the source of the problem.

“Collaboration has no hierarchy. The Sun collaborates with soil to bring flowers on the earth.”
― Amit Ray

Out of the Ashes - A New Worldview

The new conscious worldview dares us to open up our narrowed-down lens of perception, so that we can perceive more of how life really is and enliven our empathic connection with all of life. For example: any self-respecting biologist or good parent will tell you that “Germs are not the enemy.” We need to adjust the terrain to resonate with what we consider to be pathogens. We are suffering from internal biological and psychological warfare. The key to solving the social, environmental, and economic challenges we face today involves a widening of our perceptual horizon that shifts the way we interrelate with ourselves, each other, and life. It’s a shift in consciousness from separateness to interconnectedness. It is a homecoming, as it re-engages us with more of who we truly are, and how life really is rather than what we are told to think, see and believe. With it comes freedom, expansiveness and a humbling responsibility to find accord with life through our own coherence and connection.

We cannot expect ourselves to come up with real and lasting solutions to today’s challenges without first knowing how to let go and connect to Source. Yet, none of this is taught in our Universities or Business Schools today. We are all-too-consumed with the dying worldview that objectifies the world with machine thinking – the very thing that skews our capacity to connect to Source. Hence, fashionable movements like Agile, for instance, get mechanised and superficialised into the outer ‘doing’ techno-fix part. The inner dimension of how we more effectively open up, collaborate and engage systemically, is often overlooked and so the well-intended movement fails to truly transform ourselves and our organisations in any deep and lasting way.

“Unfortunately, in a hierarchical structure, power relationships tend to determine the content; there is always the danger that a “rank-based” logic will prevail. Managers, intent on advancement, tend to supply the information they know their superiors want to hear, rather than the information they ought to hear. Large organisations tend, therefore, to become systematically stupid.”
― John Médaille

Rewiring Your Brain

We are being called to rewire our neural circuitry and re-pattern our distorted belief systems. Because everything is connected, this will lead to a resetting of our bio-energetic programming as well – As above, so below. As within, so without. Our so-called “junk DNA” can be thought of as more energetic in nature, and perhaps even more potent and crucial than our physical DNA. There is evidence that DNA may be an antenna of sorts. It is likely that the technocrats have already taken this into consideration. All over the world, humanity’s heart-rhythm entrainment, as the fight-or-flight mechanism, has been set into high gear. Keeping us in a heightened state of perpetual preparedness amounts to amygdala hijacking, and programs humanity to be robotic and desensitised to emergencies and catastrophes. In this sense, we begin to no longer care about preserving what is most important – our shared emotional connection, and our intuition necessary to discern what is real from what is simulated.

Another reason to keep society in disaster mode – by using doomsday simulations and creating a race of “first responders” – is in the name of “Continuity of Government,” In this way, governments can provide a rationale to overstep constitutional bounds. On a global scale, the agenda to keep society in ceaseless fight-or-flight (more specifically, “fight-flight-freeze”) is seemingly evidenced in the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board’s September 2019 document, “A World at Risk.” Therein, they outline the need for continual simulations of pandemics worldwide as encompassed in their “whole-of-government” or “whole-of-society” approach. Here’s the thing: if all the controllers want is to play games with one another – simply to keep the “Game” going with no winners (as Miles Copeland alluded to, but perhaps fell short, in The Game of Nations) then we need to recognise that as such, and withdraw our attention from their scripted games. If the controllers want to play games with us, then maybe we just DON’T PLAY.

“The WHO is currently headed by a guy called Tedros from Ethiopia who was a politburo member in a Marxist govt that’s been running Ethiopia for a long time. He was health minister and was exposed 3 times for covering up cholera epidemics in Ethiopia…. you will understand if I don’t agree or even believe a word that comes out of his mouth.”
― David Icke

Why Do They Want Us to Be Apart?

Entrainment can be defined as: a synchronisation of two or more oscillating bodies, which have the tendency to lock into phase so that they vibrate in harmony. You can read more about entrainment here. Generally speaking, entrainment is not good or bad just as energy is not good or bad. In energetic terms, we typically emphasise that it is intention that creates a positive or negative influence. The Institute of HeartMath describes the power of the heart and heart entrainment as follows:

“The heart is the most powerful source of electromagnetic energy in the human body, producing the largest rhythmic electromagnetic field of any of the body’s organs. The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain. This field, measured in the form of an electrocardiogram (ECG), can be detected anywhere on the surface of the body. Furthermore, the magnetic field produced by the heart is more than 100 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain and can be detected up to 3 feet away from the body, in all directions…”

Using this heart entrainment information, especially the conclusions involving physical proximity between people, the implication of heart synchronisation and coherence – that which keeps living beings harmonised and connected to another – is potentially being weaponised against us. So, “Why do they want us apart?” The reason they are manipulating not just our minds, but also our hearts, is to disrupt the very energetic tapestry that keeps us anchored to our humanity. Since March 2020, humanity has been immersed in a pervasive mathematical construct, hovering on the threshold of an age in which artificial intelligence gains control of the planet. Bureaucrats of the biosurveillance state are dragging us, against our will, into an encoded, augmented reality meant to deprive us of our fundamental rights as natural, autonomous beings. Through the imposition of Internet of Bodies tied to programmed “currency” exchanges and real time geo-fencing, bankers and defence technologists intend to shoehorn the complex symphony of life on earth into the confines of cybernetic computation. As guardians of Earth and humanity, conscious leaders everywhere are rising up to say “No. This is not how the story will end.”

“The AI does not hate you, nor does it love you,

but you are made out of atoms which it can use for something else.”

― Eliezer Yudkowsky

Together We Rise

There is a key leadership dynamic to embodying next-stage future-fit leadership. It’s an unlocking, a peeling back of our innate human capacities. It is an opening up to the emergence inherent within life, rather than a grasping tight to power-and-control habits of yesterday. Here’s the thing: The tech-loonies are so caught up in their own hubris, thinking they are so far ahead, when in reality they are the old outdated, crumbling mechanistic paradigm. We have no need for yet more head-stuff, more methodologies, leadership models, company-wide questionnaires, or strategy management courses. What is really needed right now is for humanity to reconnect to our true nature within. By tapping into our essence we can lead with authenticity, coherence, and purposefulness in joyful and life-affirming ways.

As we witness the implosion of the old hierarchical structures, crumbling all around us, conscious leaders quickly realise this means we get to do the work of establishing a new standard – a New Earth – where we operate from a place of collaboration and community instead of scarcity and competition. Together, we get to create a new paradigm that, instead of one over the other, we can accomplish so much more together. We are vibrational beings. Each and every one of us carries a vibrational signature that is measurable. The higher our vibration, the more immune we are to the impact of the daily ups and downs of life. The lower our vibration, the more dramatic and intense everything feels. Higher vibrations entrain lower vibrations.  In other words, a higher vibe can pull up a lower vibe, but not the other way around.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
― Nikola Tesla

Frequency Matters

Lower vibrations cannot lower a higher vibration unless you allow it. It’s not personal. It’s simply physical law. There is a difference between being an empath and having your energy field highjacked by someone else’s energy. You can feel low vibe energy, but just because you feel it doesn’t mean you have to absorb it. In fact, the more you hold your own energy, the more you can shift the vibe in the room. What if, as conscious leaders, our role isn’t to run from low energy but to bring our highly aligned frequencies onto the planet? Are you able to stand strong enough in your own vibe, open up your news feed, and simply beam energy to all the challenges on the planet? What if you didn’t buy into the realities you read or hear about and simply hold true to your own narrative? It’s a practice.  A practice that takes time and patience.

We have a choice to accept a time of suffering and destruction or to take the reins of creation into our hands and become the stewards of a new era for humanity. Either way, we play a powerful role in co-creating the world we participate in. The real question is which destiny will we choose? In this exciting time on the planet, ancient understandings of the human power to create a different world, if we choose, have resurfaced. We are being invited to participate in a new reality that requires us to activate the Divinity within us and to serve as co-creators of a powerful New Earth. And so, we invite you to… …IMAGINE.

“What are photons? They are dimensionless, unitless, massless, pure numbers! Every photon has a specific frequency – which is its number. So, the light of the sun is in fact the light of numbers, the light of mathematics … the light of reason.”
― Mike Hockney

5 Key Themes for a Thriving and Regenerative Future

Imagine a world where people create, live, and love from a place of abundance… free from the illusion of scarcity in harmony with the intricate interplay of the cosmic matrix. Imagine a world where we all feel inherently valued and worthy of Divine Love. Imagine a world driven by an economy that is life affirming and business is a force for good. This is something we must relearn – an innate ability we must re-awaken to and remember how to use for our own benefit and as a contribution to society as a whole. Through powerful practices (that we activate through Phoenix Leadership) we unlock the brilliance inside ourselves as leaders, which also unlocks the brilliance inside our teams and wider stakeholder ecosystem. It’s this fundamental step that will activate life-affirming futures for leaders and organisations everywhere.

At the heart of this unlocking and revealing process is a personal transformation where we let go of the machine-logic of old and open up into the Logic of Life. This transformation is what enables us to become more human, more alive, more conscious. We bring in a fundamentally different way of being-and-doing than the level of consciousness which created our problems in the first place. Then together, we get to craft a new story and create a future of overflowing abundance for everyone. What’s needed now is the convergence of the pioneers and disruptors who will lead the way in bringing these ideas into reality at a scale. This will create a tipping point. It is with this broader intention that we invite you, as a conscious leader, to think about 5 key themes that we deem critical for building a truly resilient, thriving, and regenerative world ahead:

#5 Walkable cities (high-density mixed-use development)

We need to design solutions to greatly reduce the time spent in peak-time traffic or transit. This can be achieved if cities are built at a human scale through a mixed-use development approach. Once we liberate our high-streets from trucks and cars we can bring back the plazas, squares, lanes, and intimate meeting places that are packed full of life and community when the right conditions are created.

#4 Co-creative mindset (design for creativity, fun and flexibility)

The co-creation process emerges when we accept our own limitations as individual creators, designers, and architects and strive to uncover new perspectives and ideas that challenge our assumptions. It’s about allowing time and space for new thinking to emerge as we deeply reflect and consider the values and vision of each project we work on.

#3 Re-connecting with nature (wellbeing, nature and human nature)

We are nature, so we must ensure that there are plenty of spaces for reconnecting with nature and nourishing our senses. Whether it’s intimate parks and communal gardens, cafes, pubs, or clubs, libraries, museums or hotel lobbies filled with plants, natural light, cosy furnishings, and a welcoming community vibe. Proximity to nature is proven to open up a higher state of consciousness through which we can begin to speak and listen from our open mind-heart-will.

#2 Cultures of caring (compassionate cities & organisations)

With the right facilitation and ingredients, we can design collaborative spaces where multi-cultural multi-generational communal conviviality flourishes. We need to become more aware of the special elements and moments that enable people to relax, take off their masks, and feel safe to truly be themselves.

#1 Local food production (the power of eating fresh and local)

Our current food system is the leading contributor to illness and generates ridiculous quantities of waste. It’s a toxic system that needs to be transformed and integrated into city and community development. How can we enable more local food production and make nutritious, sustainable, and fresh food more affordable and accessible for all?

“Work on being so in touch with your sensuality until your presence is of such high value that you can’t be half-loved, rationally considered, or lived without… ever.”
― Lebo Grand

Open Your Heart

None of this can happen without the power of the heart. The heart is not just a muscle, pumping oxygenated blood to every single cell in our bodies 100,000 times a day without fail… no… its much more muchier than that. When we drop into our heartspace and reorientate our awareness within our chest, for a brief moment… coherence happens. Your heart is a powerful organ of perception, thousands of times more powerful magnetically than the brain at sensing and responding to subtle perturbations in your surroundings. It also directly updates the brain.

Phoenix Leaders undertake certain practices that cultivate heart-awareness and enable ‘heart entrainment’ between our three main neurological centres: head, heart, gut.  And with this, our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems cohere and our natural human repertoire coheres. Hormones change, senses liven, and we tap into our super-nature. In this way, we tighten our awareness to be co-participating with the Source field of life within and all around us, we reconnect with all that is. How you awaken your awareness of self-other-world is what will enable humanity to shift our consciousness beyond the dystopian power-grab and into a future that is brighter and more life-affirming than you ever could have dreamed of.

“Things do not happen TO you. They happen THROUGH you.
You are the co-creator of everything in your reality.”
